Kristen Sanders, Youth Worship Leader

Kristen Sanders decided in 2008 that LifeSprings Christian Church was no longer just her “parents’ church,” but her own church. In 2010, Kristen began to serve as the leader of the youth worship team, Newphoria. She is the lead pianist and vocalist for the team. She helps choose new songs and playlists and works with the team to produce excellent praise, worship, and prophetic worship.

As a young girl, Kristen invited Jesus to be her Lord and Savior. Even before that time, she has been in awe of the power of God in the Bible and in her family’s life. When she was ten years old, Kristen wanted to know, without any doubt, that God was real, powerful, and that He wanted relationships with His people. She had heard once, about God waking her grandfather up at night to speak with him and giving him scriptures; she wanted to hear God that way, as well. One night, she asked God to wake her up in the middle of the night and give her a scripture. That very night, God awakened her and told her to read Psalms 84. The part of the chapter that spoke to her was, “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

Newphoria is “a new generation with the ability to endure, making a new sound for God.” Kristen believes that the “new sound” is created when the members of the team live a life of surrender before God. Kristen is passionate about worshiping God and is committed to serving God with her whole heart. She desires to see Newphoria thrive and increase in God’s anointing as it reaches out to LifeSprings and the community. She loves being a part of what God is doing through Newphoria and anticipates the “impossible” becoming a reality. “With God, all things are possible.” From Romans 15:5-6, she prays, “God, you give us endurance and encouragement. Give us a spirit of unity among ourselves as we follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth we may glorify You.”

Mark and Teri Miller, Youth Worship Mentors

Mark and Teri Miller grew up in Austin, TX, met at church and were married in 1993. They have each ministered through worship music since 1991. They came to Life Springs in 2000 and soon joined the worship team. Mark is a passionate drummer, very skilled in conveying God’s heart through his playing. Teri plays multiple instruments including sax, flute, and guitar and greatly enjoys times of prophetic worship. Teri is also a trained sound board technician. Their children play with them on the adult worship team as well as in the youth band. Aaron plays guitar and drums, and Micah plays piano and bass guitar. They have served at Life Springs as home group leaders and currently serve as the youth worship team mentors, members of the healing team, and members of the adult worship team.

NEWPHORIA presents young people with an atmosphere in which they can express their love, admiration and worship to the Lord through original and contemporary music. Our desire is to live as an example to all youth and put on display all the benefits of walking with the Lord and submitting to His will. In this submission, God is exalted through the skillful demonstration of our musical talents.

We are using every available opportunity to further train team members in the art of prophetic worship and developing them to higher levels of musical competency. Each team member is expected to practice an hour per week outside of our regular Tuesday night practices. Here at LifeSprings, NEWPHORIA, leads worship at youth events once every two months and regular Sunday worship service every 4 to 8 weeks. This year, we are actively pursuing opportunities to get involved in our community. Our plan is to extend our talents through participation in community-wide youth rallies and Fifth Quarter events sponsored through an alliance of local church ministries.
